Practices
- Practice will be held on every school day that we
don’t have a game. Practice will begin promptly at 2:30, everyone is
expected to be in full equipment, stretched and ready to begin training.
Practices will never go later than 5:30 and we will make every attempt to
end by 5:00.
- Every player is expected to bring the following
equipment to EVERY practice: running shoes, cleats, shinguards and soccer
socks. The team as a whole will
also be responsible for bringing water, balls, pinnies and cones to each
training.
- All players that arrive late or miss practice
must provide a coach with documentation. Work, intramurals, forgetting
equipment, detentions and other behavioral issues are NOT valid excuses.
- If you
are late to practice for a non-valid reason: 5 minutes of team
conditioning
- If you
miss a practice or match for a non-valid reason: 1 game suspension
- If you
forget any equipment (individual or team): 1 full field suicide for each
piece of missing equipment
- There
are no exceptions and no excuses!!
Games
- Most games will begin at 3:45 pm, with occasional
night games for Varsity. On days that we have away games, everyone is
expected to be dressed and ready to get on the bus. It is your
responsibility to be on time, the bus will
not wait for anyone.
- Players are required to be in uniform before all
games. In addition, Varsity players will be expected to have their bags
and warmups. Don’t show up half-dressed when you arrive to the fields or
when boarding the bus. We want to put our best foot forward, arriving
together, in uniform and looking like a team.
- No athletes will be permitted to arrive to or
depart from away games by themselves, with other students/athletes or with
parents unless approved IN ADVANCE.
We need a signed note from your parent or guardian if you will not be
taking the bus home.
Sportsmanship & Fair Play
- Being a student-athlete means you are being held
to high standards of integrity, responsibility and sportsmanship at all
times. You are a role model for your peers and a representation of your
school and community.
- Foul play and profane language are not tolerated
on this team. Any players who are ejected from games due to
unsportsmanlike conduct (physical OR verbal) must serve a 1 game
suspension.
- Bad attitudes and negativity are contagious-
don’t bring them onto the team. Win or lose, let’s remember why we are here:
our love for soccer and the opportunity to become better athletes.
- We are all here to have fun. Maintain a positive attitude and enjoy the game! Be sure to shake the opposing team’s hands following a game and be a good sport. Cheer for your teammates, not against your opponents.
Academics
- School should be your #1 priority while you are a
student at EHHS. Practices and games are not valid excuses for missing
school work or falling behind academically. Athletes must maintain a 1.7
(C-) GPA.
- Athletes who fail to meet the academic
expectations of the program will jeopardize their position on the team. If
at any time soccer interferes with your academics, I will intervene until
you have proven you are capable of handling both responsibilities.
Alcohol, Tobacco & Substance
Abuse
- The use or possession of alcohol, tobacco and
other substances is strictly prohibited. Our team will follow all policies
established by the EHHS athletic department, and as indicated in the
student-athlete handbook.
- There will be no tolerance for violations of this
policy; players will be immediately dismissed from the team for the
remainder of the season.
- Respect yourself, your teammates, your coaches
and your school- make positive
decisions and honor your commitments with integrity. Never make a
choice that will tarnish the team’s reputation.
Coaches’ Expectations
- WE ARE
ALL members of the Girl’s Soccer
program. Be supportive of your teammates and look out for one another like
family. The actions of a single player are a reflection of our entire
team.
- Coaches love to work with athletes that have a
positive attitude and want to learn and improve. Be willing to accept
advice and criticism as I am only trying to help you. Trust that your
coaches have all players’ and the team’s best interests in mind. Be
flexible and open to new techniques and new positions.
- Do not bring personal issues onto our team. Drama
belongs on a stage, not on a soccer field. If personal problems are
interfering with our team, please speak to the coaches privately so that
we can resolve the issues immediately.
- Playing time is not up for discussion at any
point before or after a match. If you wish to discuss this issue please set-up
a meeting with the coaches at another time.
- Participation in a Varsity Athletics Program is optional
and is a privilege. Make the team a priority, put the success of our team
above your personal achievements and we will have a great season.
